The smiles and tears, the sensibilities and silliness, the strengths and weaknesses, the resilience and vulnerabilities: all of these make us mothers. As a sorority, we are a potpourri of infinite emotions and actions that never cease to amaze and perplex. Like any other species on planet Earth, we definitely make mistakes. So in our defense, I fall back on something said by a wise man of yore: “To err is human, to forgive divine”.
As another Mother’s Day is celebrated this year, here are a few quotes that I have come across over time. Truly they have impressed me, and I wish I had written them. Unfortunately I cannot claim the copyright of these lines. Some will make you reflect on the beauty of motherhood while others will make you laugh. But serious or funny, there is immense truth packed in these words!
The forever comforting hand!
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~ Washington Irving

So moms, do you find yourselves in any of those situations above? Here’s to wishing you all a very happy Mother’s Day!
